Who Makes MAZDA?

2024 Mazda CX-90 Grille

One of the most iconic auto brands globally, you’re probably wondering, “Where is Mazda made?” To begin with, the Mazda Motor Corporation is based in Fuchu, Aki District in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.

Most well-known for its rotary engine technology, Mazda has been one of the world’s premier automakers, known for their efficient and sporty vehicles that many Dublin drivers have come to love. Learn more about who owns Mazda and more in the following guide from Byers Mazda! Don’t forget to schedule an appointment by calling 844-896-3953 or contact us online!

Who Owns MAZDA?

Founded in 1920 in Hiroshima, Japan, the Mazda Motor Corporation first produced three-wheeled motorcycles known as “Autorickshaws.” Being the highlight of multiple Mazda-sponsored events in the 1930s, these would increase the domestic popularity of “motorized carts” and would make the company a household name in Japan.

While they developed their first passenger vehicle in 1940, Mazda was largely known for its three-wheeled carts. As the post-war Japanese auto market demanded affordable cars for its growing economy, Mazda began producing compelling designs for compact cars, trucks, and three-wheeled vehicles. This would lead to the creation of Mazda’s famous rotary engine.

To this day, when someone asks, “Where is Mazda made?” we tell them that it’s still based in Japan as it has been for over 100 years. While most of their vehicles are still made at Japanese plants, they have started producing the Mazda CX-50 crossover at a facility in Alabama since 2021.

What Sets MAZDA Apart From Other Brands?

Beyond the question, “Where is Mazda made?” One aspect that has set this automaker apart from other companies is the unique technology in their vehicles. Now that SKYACTIV® technology is present in some of the newer Mazda models, including the Mazda3 and Mazda CX-30, you’ll see less of the famed rotary engines that gave them their footing.

With newer innovative designs and technology, it’s harder for other automakers to compete. Featuring the latest and most powerful fuel-efficient engines, it’s no wonder Mazdas are popular around Powell!

MAZDA Technology

Supporting the finest in engine technology, Mazda is also focusing on advanced safety tech, with such features as a 360-degree monitor that provides a clearer view while parking. At the same time, it also provides a better view of your surroundings and makes driving around the Worthington area a breeze.
